How Do I Find My Tool?

That's a great question! There are usually two "use cases": 

Use Case 1: I have a part number and need to re-purchase the same tool. In that scenario, Pilot Precision offers three paths:

1. We have QR-coded labels on our packaging that take you to the product in our Digital Catalog. From there, reach out to one of our Regional or National Distributors listed on our websites.

2. Go directly to our Digital Catalogs:

  4. Find the product you are looking for
  5. Request a quote

• For the tools made by Palbit, visit PalbitUSA.com 
  
  1. Click on the search icon on the top right.
  2. Type in your part number.
  3. Add to cart
  4. Click on “Convert to Order.”
  5. Click on Request a Quote or click on Convert to Order (if you already have an account)

3. Call your Concierge: As your Tooling Concierge, we use our expertise to understand your complex machining applications and recommend the right tooling. At Pilot, we leverage our technical knowledge and business relationships to connect you with four of the world’s most respected brands of broaching tools, spot drills, reamers, micro drills, and more.

Use Case 2: I do not have a part number. I need to purchase the best tool for my application. In that scenario, Pilot Precision offers three paths:

  • Repeat the process above

2. If you can’t find a standard tool, and/or are looking for a custom tool design (Broaches, Drills, Slotter…) look to our RFQ forms on PilotPrecision.com or PalbitUSA.com depending on your application. Fill it out as much as possible, add a part print if possible, and send the package to your Tooling Concierge. We’ll design and quote the proper tool for you.

3. Call your Concierge: As your Tooling Concierge, we use our expertise to understand your complex machining applications and recommend the right tooling. At Pilot, we leverage our technical knowledge and business relationships to connect you with five of the world’s most respected brands of broaching tools, spot drilling, reaming, micro-drilling, and indexable turning/milling/drilling.

Just as a hotel concierge recommends the best places to eat and shop, we at Pilot Precision Products welcome the opportunity to serve as your Tooling Concierge and recommend the best precision-cutting tools for your applications.

Here's what we can do for you:

1. We have a team of dedicated tooling application engineers who can examine a 2D or 3D drawing of your part, understand your machines' capabilities, and help you "program" your job with the best tooling, setup, starting speed, and feed recommendations.
2. We have five brands, each with a unique specialty. We keep a strong inventory of different tools from our brands in stock, and our various distribution partners do, too. We can design and make custom tooling from scratch or modify standards quickly. In emergencies, we can deliver within a week of placing your order.
